I know I’ve been a slacker blogger this past 5 days but I’ve had family in town and have been enjoying time with them. But I’m back and have a box full of goodies I received this month.

This month I was paired with Lisa from The Daily RUNdown. I think we may be secret bff’s or she somehow read my mind. She managed to send me things I LOVE without me even telling her or having talked to her previously. Seriously she included peanut butter, chocolate, nuts and home baked goodies. How much better does it get than that?

This is the package I received and I was in love. I will confess that some things didn’t even make it out of the box before I started snacking on them.

I wish we had a Publix near me so I could devour and stock my cabinets with this stuff. Seriously such a good combo of stuff. This nut mix is Chocolate Cranberry Crunch and was salty and sweet and delicious. I want some right now!

These bad boys barely made it to my cabinet because I opened them right up as well. I usually don’t like chili flavored stuff but these were great. Nice and crunchy with a good taste just like I like my chips!

I already ate the blueberry muffin Larabar since I’ve been wanting to try it forever and haven’t taken the plunge to get it. I’m hiding the apple pie one for a later date and I’ll let you know how it is. I love almonds but am the only person in the world that doesn’t like wasabi so these weren’t up my alley. But have no fear they found a good home (or belly) in my co-worker who loves them. I can hear her munching on them sometimes.

Finally my favorite thing to get is baked goods. Lisa added two baked goods. One was a no-bake chocolate PB cookie that didn’t make it in one piece but I still ate it and it was great. The other was a pistachio type treat from Israel I believe. It had a good and different taste to it. It was a little bitter but then sweet and very decadent.

I want to give a big shout out to Lisa for such a great package. Go check out her page! You can also go see what I got Jane from The Healthy Beehive.

None of this would be possible with out Lindsay from The Lean Green Bean. If you aren’t familiar with the

I’ m not usually too forgetful but today I definitely was. I got up to go to the gym at 5am and had a great workout. I came back showered, ate my oatmeal and rushed out the door to get to work. I got to work and as I started to walk up the stairs reality hit me. I forgot my laptop at home. Flash forward to 5 minutes later as I was back in my car and driving 30 minutes back home. I’m working at home now since there was no way I was driving back again. Ugh is all I have to say. I had a ton of work to do and it’s so much harder to do on a small screen.

But in better news I get to reveal my Foodie Penpal box for April. I got paired with the lovely Maureen over at Organically Mo. She sent me a box of lots of goodies including a ton of new to me things that I’m super excited to use. Also check out Amy and what she thinks about what I sent her.

Here’s the great things I got from Maureen.

Lemons – I LOVE lemons and these ones were nice and juicy just like I like them. I definitely used these in some dishes already.

Chocolate Soap – It smells so good. I haven’t had the chance to use it yet but am VERY excited to try it.

Justin’s Dark Chocolate PB Cups – SCORE! I’ve tried the regular chocolate ones and was thrilled to see these bad boys in here. Get in my belly!

Applewood Smoked Salt – I haven’t had the chance to try this yet but am planning something soon. I promise this smells SO good. My co-workers were commenting on how strong and delish this smelled.

Amazing Grass – I’ve been wanting to try this FOREVER and haven’t ever picked any up. So this was a great treat that I’m excited to try.

Trader Joe’s Fruit Bar – These are usually always in my drawer or bars and stuff. My fabulous penpal must have been reading my mind or looking in my drawer because I was fresh out of these. Yum!

Lemon Lavender Cookies – These were made with Almond Meal and I must admit I loved the texture. I’ll need to bake with that soon. I can’t say I’m sold a 100% on the flavor. I would have liked to taste a little more lemon and less lavender.

If the great box I got doesn’t convince you. You can check it out for yourself.

Here’s a detailed explanation of the program:

I saw a post or two about this thing called Foodie Penpals. It piqued my interest so I decided to join for the month of March. Best decision ever! I go an AWESOME box from my penpal – Malia at Self Professed Product Obsessed. She is a sweetheart who is on a mission to find the perfect product that does it all. If she finds it I definitely want to know! She’s funny and has tons of product reviews to help you find some great products. Check Malia out!

The box!

All the goods.

With the difficult month I’ve had Malia’s  box definitely brought a smile to my face. First of all I think she must have got in my head somehow because she included two of my favorite things ever – chocolate and almond butter. Girl is a genius! She also included some delicious looking Raspberry Mustard that I haven’t got to try yet, some licorice which will be nice for my multiple visits to the theater to see The Hunger Games and some onion garlic pistachios that I devoured in 2.5 seconds flat (HOLY YUM).

This stuff is SOOO good - perfect on my apple for an afternoon snack.

These bad boys had a kick but that didn't stop me from opening them up right away.

Can't wait to try this.

Two of my favorite things. Yum!

I’m so happy with my great things I wouldn’t normally get for myself and a few new to me things I’m stoked about trying and/or buying more of. I can’t wait to see what shows up at my doorstep next month and what I put together for my penpal match. Lindsey from the Lean Green Bean is the mastermind behind it all and does a great job organizing and keeping everything running smoothly. Major props to her!
